The heart and soul of the railroad's shops were the huge shop buildings dedicated to engine repairs. Built for the needs of steam locos, many were easily upgraded to handle diesels in later years. Based on the earlier Backshop kit from Walthers and sharing many architectural elements, this model is larger to handle almost any motive power.

Features:

• Molded in four colors and clear plastic
• Ideal for steam and diesel-era layouts
• Accepts Code 83 or Code 100 rail
• Holds locomotives up to 16 1/2" in length
• Easily expanded by combining kits (each sold separately)
• Details include brick construction, large multi-paned industrial windows, metal rooftop ventilators, end wall with optional doors and windows, interior crane rails and supports for a Heavy Duty Crane (sold separately) and realistic decals
